17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.” Romans 14: 17-18 NLT
The emphasis in the kingdom of God is never the stomach, thank God for food and drink though. The focus is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost! You cannot imagine the powerful teachings of our Lord Jesus in the homes of many people in Israel who invited Him for meal.
Matthew the tax collector invited Jesus and his fellow tax collectors and notable sinners for meal in his home and He preached to them the message of the kingdom! He also taught the Pharisees a lesson. Matt. 9: 9-13
In the home of Lazarus, Mary and Martha: Jesus taught on the importance of God’s word. Lk. 10:38-42
He preached on both giving and reward of putting God and the kingdom first in our giving. John 12: 1-7
In the home of Simon, Jesus taught on the love and mercy of God to forgive when man repents. Luke 7: 36-50
The name of Mary will be mentioned for timely giving of her best gift to Jesus. Mark 14: 3-9
At the last supper in the upper room, Jesus’ message on the New Testament written with His blood of everlasting covenant for permanent atonement of sin for mankind. Matt. 26: 26-30
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart….” Acts 2: 46-47 KJV
The Disciples likewise were meeting from house to house sharing meal together even as they share the word of God, Holy Communion and their possession together with the bond of love. And the Lord added to them daily such as should be saved.
Food, like money is so vital to human existence and relationship on earth such that if care is not taken, there will be offence. As a matter of fact, the first family in the Garden of Eden had problem with their fellowship with God when the Enemy enticed them with food. Gen. 3: 6-11 KJV
A similar thing happened in the New Testament Church that caused confusion. The Grecian women were not satisfied with the way food was being served and they complained. When the Apostles heard, they had to choose seven honest leaders filled with the Holy Spirit, and wisdom to serve the table. Acts 6: 1-3
The first miracle of Our Lord Jesus Christ was at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. When the wine got finished, there was need for more wine. Food and drink is so important in most human ceremonies. The people might start to leave as a result of the inadequate wine. That explains why Jesus had compassion on them when the mother asked Him for help though it was not yet the time of His public ministry. But, by this miracle of wine, His glory shone all over the place even His disciples believed in Him! John 2: 1-11 KJV
However, as we become Disciples of Christ and learn more of Him, we need to control our appetite. The disciples were with Jesus but, they did not complain over food nor drink. In Joh chapter 6, The Lord fed 5000 men and 12 baskets of fragments were packed by the disciples. They were more concerned about the people than themselves. John 6: 6-9. Matt. 14:15. Mark 6: 31
The same in book of Acts quoted above. Because they have been able to control their appetite, they didn’t murmur or complain over food and drink unlike the Church in the wilderness under Moses and Aaron where they people were fond of complaining about food and drink. Exo. 15: 23-26. Num. 11: 4-6. Therefore, as husbands and fathers, we need not to get angry when food is late, let’s control our appetite. Prayer with fasting will help us both to control our appetite and grow spiritually even as we study and meditate on God’s word the more. Prayer and fasting based on continuous word study is necessary for our growth as Disciples of Jesus Christ.
Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will put an end to both of them….” 1 Cor. 6: 13. (GW) Phil. 3: 19
As a Disciple of Jesus, it is better to live a fasted life. This will prevent us from gluttony and keep our body in shape for healthy living as we eat balance diet moderately.
“Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God.” Matt. 4: 4
When Peter prayed, he saw vision of his next assignment to Cornelius from The Lord. Hence, instead of having restraint because they were Gentiles, he followed them to take the gospel to the Gentiles.
That explains why Peter went to pray when he was hungry while the food was being prepared. Acts 10: 9-10

Leaders should be mindful of the fact that they are role model to some other people who will copy whatever they say and do. Acts 1:1, Phil. 4:9, 2Tim.3:14, John 17:19.
May our lives mirror Christ to others not just our works, also in our words 1Peter 1:15 KJV
Have a great week beloved. 12742570_556978934467988_5955207628544285051_n.jpg

It is better to be on the Lord’s side and be unpopular than to be hailed by multitude.

Don’t just pray for long life and riches. Pray for fruitful years & to fulfill God’s purpose for your life according to what is written concerning you because you have eternal life as a believer. Jesus lived for 33 years+, Enoch for 365 years with God but, Methuselah lived for 969 years and he died. Heb. 10:7, Psalm 90:16-17, 91:16, Gen. 5: 21-27, Acts 13:22, 36. Have a great week ahead beloved. 💚💓

Be careful what you are doing that is working for you contrary to God’s instruction or sound doctrine of Jesus Christ!

God told Moses to SPEAK to the rock and water will come out. Then, Moses STRUCK the rock twice. Amazingly, water came out because God wanted to give the people water despite…But, Moses was punished for disobedience and disrespect for God. Num. 20:8-12 (GNB)
“I hope to visit you soon. However, I’m writing this to you in case I’m delayed. I want you to know how people who are members of God’s family must live. God’s family is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” 1Tim. 3:14-15 (GW)

Jesus would always do whatever He said:
He promised He would come and He came,
He promised He would be crucified and He was crucified,
He promised He would Rise from the dead and He Rose!
He promised He would come again and He is coming again!!
His word is Yea and Amen! Believe Him, Trust Him and follow Him by faith!

Sing: You came from heaven to earth, to show the way,
From the earth to the cross, my debt You paid,
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord, I lift your name on High….
HAPPY RESURRECTION!!! 💙29598124_1932735226781751_1356506765473220383_n.jpg

Text: Exodus 12: 12-14 (NIV)

The month of Abib in Jewish calendar is from mid-March to mid-April. The significance of this month is so much in their lives and history. It is the month of exodus when God delivered them from Pharaoh and led them on their way to the promise land.

Before they left Egypt, they observed Passover which marked their deliverance from draconian taskmasters under Pharaoh’s authority. When every effort to get them freed proved abortive because pharaoh was adamant, the Lord told Moses to instruct all Jews in Egypt to kill sheep or goat per household and mark their houses with the blood of the sheep so that as the Lord would visit Egyptians with terrible plaque, He would Passover the Jews by the reason of the blood mark on them.

“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn- both men and animals- and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt, I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt” Exo. 12: 12-13

The blood saved the Israelites from destruction while the same blood destroyed Egyptians and their gods. The same blood transferred the wealth of the Egyptians to the Jews, the Red sea opened up for them to pass through dry land by the Lord’s command. The same Red Sea destroyed Pharaoh and his army.

“By faith the people passed through the Red sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.” Heb. 11: 29

1. Forgiveness of sin:

“…. And without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Heb. 9: 22

The blood shed by Our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary is the acceptable and permanent atonement for the remission of man’s sin. No more blood of goat, sheep etc for atonement. Jesus said, “It is finished” that is, no more sacrifices for atonement as far as sin is concerned. He has already paid the full and final price for redemptionHeb. 9: 10

b. Salvation: Man can only tap into the finished work by believing the gospel, repent of sin and ask for forgiveness by Christ Jesus. Then make Jesus your Saviour and Lord over your life. 1 Pet 1: 18-19, Isa. 1:18-19, Rev 5: 9

c. Justification: Rom 5:9. No more guilt because by His resurrection, we are justified which means, just as if we never sinned. Salvation brings man into a state of innocence before God. Jesus has taken man’s sin and the curse of the law upon His own head (thorn of crown) on the cross to give man His own innocence. Therefore, no more need for calves’ blood which does only ceremonial atonement. If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.

2. Healing: Jesus received stripes by whips with sharp objects that tore His flesh. The blood and water that came out from His body is for healing. 1 Peter 2: 24

3. Deliverance from Curses: Gal 3:13, 1Pet 2:9. The blood of Jesus flowing from the crown of thorns has broken the curse of the law. Thus the power of hardship and struggles broken from Believers’ lives and cause the Gentiles who believe in Christ to have access to the blessings of Abraham, the father of faith. Gal 3:14

4. Blessings: Apart from that mention above the bible says, Jesus was rich but, became poor for us so, that we might become rich. 2 Cor.8:9.

The riches of Christ available for Christians is first spiritual and then soul, financial /material. 3 John 2. Divine revelation through wisdom of God and His creative ability can be tapped into by people of God for our prosperity; spirit, soul and body. Instead of slaves of sin that we were under the law, Jesus through His blood shed has redeemed/freed us and made us kings and priests to serve our Father. Rev 1: 5-6 (NIV)

Serve: Luke 1:74, Heb.9:14, 13:20-21. Believers receive empowerment to serve the Lord our God in an acceptable way.

6. Warfare: Rev.12:11, 1Pet.2:6-8. The same blood of Jesus was able to conquer the devil, principalities and powers publicly. Col. 1:15. The blood of Jesus is a powerful instrument with the word of God to break satanic yoke and set captives free. Believers have this authority through Christ. The devil can never cross the bloodline. He could not cross it in the Red sea, on the cross, in heaven, on earth even beneath the earth. Phil.2:8-11, Heb.11:28-29 (NIV)

7. Covenant: Since covenants are usually made among men by blood oath, Jesus shed His blood as the only mark of covenant between God and man. Heb.13:20-21, Mt.26:26-28. The blood is seal of blessing for Believers in Christ.

8. Holiness: Heb. 13:12. It is the blood of Jesus that purify us and faith in Him enables us to live holy.
