“But, ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.” 2Cor. 10:17-18 (NIV)
Paul does not even expect anyone to boast at all…rather, he expect us to focus on the Lord and strive to know Him more and more as we serve Him. I hope we know that the more we know Him, the more we realize that we are yet to know Him more. The more you serve Him, the more you realize you are yet to serve Him more. Therefore, we should allow God to commend us. Don’t be obsessed by those who commend you and do not be discouraged by those who criticize you provided God Himself commends you which must challenge you to do more! Just do what He ask you to do with the right motive to please only Him.
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:12-14.
Prayer: Lord, help me to put my flesh under so that i may focus on you and to please you. It’s not about me, i or mine, it’s all about you Lord. Have a blessed weekend.♥
